Thought I’d offer some additional information.

The ACT one said they had lots of at home candidates already, and it could be a year before they have something available for me. They let me apply anyway.

Gradiate only wanted my resume and a few words or paragraphs about what makes me a “genius.”

The training of Literably was incredibly difficult. There was too much room for error. As far as I could figure, I was .01 percent above the highest acceptable phoneme difference, although, they didn’t actually tell me if I did well or not. After submitting my six training transcriptions there wasn’t any “you passed” or “you failed” page or message. I got an email that said the next step was for them to review my work manually. They said they are a small company that receives a lot of applications so it will take “several weeks or longer” for them to get back to me. I’m not holding my breath on this one.

Measurement Inc. wants you to do an interview and give professional references. I don’t know if the interview is in person or not. They also say that attendance for training, during the first few days of a project, is mandatory. I’m guessing that means I have to drive somewhere for these trainings? They do not specify whether the trainings or the interviews can be done online or over the phone. I clicked on the apply button, put in reader/evaluator position as the category, and clicked on select location. My state wasn’t listed, but “remote-work from home” was, so I clicked that. One position was found matching that search. Beginning reader pay is listed as $11.70 per hour. They say you have to reside in one of the following states to be considered: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, KS, KY, MD, ME, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, VA, WA, WV. My state is listed there, but I decided not to apply because there were too many unknowns, and it sounded like a drawn out process.

When I got to the Pearson link I realized I’d already filled out their online application when I applied for the ACT job.

I couldn’t figure out where to apply on the WriteScore website. There seems to be no job application link.

I also clicked on Any Subject Books to get an idea of what they pay. (I was hoping for more than just a free book.) They don’t tell you until after your application has been accepted, and, currently, they say they’re not accepting any more book reviewers.

Thanks for sharing all these suggestions with us. I’m going to check out Book Scouter. I have a lot of books lying around. Before I give them over to GoodWill I may as well check to see if I can make some money. 🙂

Passing this along! Have a great week.
