Meet the HBF graduates

I recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Marketing from the University of Western Australia (UWA). When seeking career opportunities, I chose HBF because of its organisational culture and great work in the WA community. Working for a local big business that cares about the community, its members and employees is something very important to me.

The HBF Graduate Program has taught me to trust in my skills and abilities. It has pushed me outside of my comfort zone which has allowed me to experience different areas of business that I would never have thought I would enjoy previously.

I applied for the Graduate Program at HBF for two very simple reasons, to learn from the best in Technology and Financial Services and to help provide the best service to HBF’s valued members.

I look forward to meeting new people on this exciting adventure whilst learning what it takes behind the scenes in creating the well-established brand that we all cherish.

Working at HBF has given me a great opportunity to translate the skills I gained at University into real-world projects, develop my professional abilities, and meet the incredibly friendly and helpful team here.

As a part of the Technology division, I’ve been exposed to a wide variety of tools and technologies, and I’m excited to see what else I can learn as HBF embarks on its Digital Transformation.

As HBF embarks on a new technology-lead journey, I’m excited to put my knowledge and technical skills in Actuarial Science and Financial Mathematics to the test. As part of the HBF Graduate Program, we’re encouraged to showcase our skills and given equal responsibility to our colleagues. We’ve got the support of some great teams within HBF and get to learn from the best.

The program has allowed me to experience different areas of the business and I’m looking forward to sharpening my existing skills in Data Analytics and learning more about Financial Services to kickstart my career.

I was fortunate to embark on my career journey at HBF after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial & Applied Statistics from Curtin University. My interest in insurance was sparked during a previous internship at a general insurance company. Now, I have been given an opportunity to work in the Data Analytics team for the largest health insurer in WA.

I am thoroughly enjoying being able to apply my Actuarial studies to real word complexities and having to critically analyse business problems and work towards solutions. I am looking forward to tackling future projects and challenges whilst gaining invaluable experience, knowledge and relationships.
