Are you a people person? Money-motivated? Then a remote career in sales might be the right field for you.
Sales jobs are perfect if you’re driven and have great interpersonal communication skills. Many sales representatives spend a lot of time speaking with potential customers to identify their specific needs. Then they promote products or services that meet those needs.
You are often paid a commission for each sale you make. However, some sales reps might receive an hourly wage plus bonuses whenever sales goals are met.
As far as work from home career fields, you spend most of your time on the phone generating new leads and closing sales or prospecting through email.
Some popular remote career titles in sales include: Marketing Manager, Sales Specialist,Customer Service, and Account Executive.

3. Customer Service Jobs From Home
When it comes to work from home career fields that hire frequently, customer service is one I see the most!
Companies ranging from small businesses to startups and even large corporations, like Amazon, hire at-home customer service representatives.
As a Customer Service Rep, you typically take a lot of inbound calls. If tons of phone calls aren’t your thing, there are some non-phone customer service opportunities as an email or chat agent.
If you have little previous work experience, that’s okay too. Many at-home customer service jobs are beginner friendly. However, if you want to boost your resume and make it stand out, you can always take an affordable online course like the ones offered at Udemy.

4. Medical & Health Care Jobs From Home
Typically, you don’t think of medical jobs as being remote-friendly. Doctors and nurses need to be in person to treat patients, right? While that’s true in most cases, the healthcare field goes far beyond medical providers (although there are opportunities for them to work from home too!).
Today, you can find a number of telecommuting jobs in healthcare like:
- Medical Billing & Coding
- Medical Transcription & Editing
- Patient Advocate
- Member Services Provider
- Healthcare Information Provider
- Insurance Claims Representative
- And So Much More
If you already have medical experience, you can easily transition to remote work. Remote.co has a great list of healthcare jobs you can do from home.
But, you may find yourself with little to no healthcare experience. In that case, you can always take a short online course to teach you a remote skill like Medical Coding & Billing or Medical Transcription & Editing.
I highly recommend CareerStep. The Medical Coding as well as Medical Transcription courses can be completed in under a year (and on your own schedule). And, when you’re done, you’ll be ready to knock on the virtual doors of the many companies that CareerStep partners with to hire remote workers, like you!
5. Education Jobs From Home
Initially, I was surprised to find Education is one of the top work from home career fields. But, then I thought about how technology makes learning far more accessible today than it was even a decade ago.
Now, students from Kindergarten to postgraduate degree seekers can take their learning virtually. It’s no wonder there are so many telecommute jobs in education.
Some of the more common job titles include:
- Teacher
- Admissions Assistant
- Tutor
- Counselor
- Curriculum Developer
- Teaching Assistant
Of course, to be an educator you need the appropriate degree and credentials. These requirements vary from state to state.
But there are non-specialized education positions available too. Companies and schools that routinely hire non-teaching positions include:
- The Center For Excellence In Higher Education
- Newsela
- Kaplan
- EdConnective
- Thinkful
- Fullstack Academy
When you sign up for a FlexJobs membership, you’ll gain access to hundreds more education-based remote jobs actively hiring. And, as a bonus, you never have to worry about scams here.
