Our commitment

HBF is actively working to improve accessibility and provide all users with equal access to our information.

We strive to comply with W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 to level AA. Following these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for everyone.

Accessibility features

Our website makes use of industry-standard techniques and best practices to improve website accessibility for our users. These include:

• Text size - Text on our website can be resized using standard browser controls up to 200% without losing content or functionality.
• Video captions - All videos embedded on our website are captioned to assist people living with hearing impairments.
• Images - All images used to convey meaning have alternative text available. Images that are used for purely decorative purposes do not contain any alternative text. Images containing text are avoided.
• Hyperlinks - Whenever possible, link text is written meaningfully to make sense when read out of context, and are underlined to make them easily noticeable.
• Forms - Our online forms are keyboard accessible and designed to support users with limited dexterity or a visual impairment.
• Colour - Information conveyed with colour is also identifiable by other means for users with visual impairment
• Navigating the website -
  • We have provided multiple ways of navigating our website, including basic search, a sitemap and page breadcrumbs.
  • This website includes proper use of structured headings and subheadings that can be navigated through depending on the navigation settings of your screen reader.

Limitations of this site’s accessibility

While our website includes a number of accessibility considerations, you may find some limitations:

• JavaScript – Users will be unable to log into myHBF, submit forms or view charts/FAQs if they have JavaScript turned off. Please enable JavaScript in your web browser.
• PDFs – Product sheets, statements, and other personal communications may not be tagged with accessibility features, meaning screen readers may have difficulties reading the document. If you require an accessible version of a document, please contact us and we will endeavour to make an alternative format available to you.

• Contrast – We endeavour to provide enough contrast ratio, however if you find certain text and background colour combinations difficult to read, you can change the text and background colours in your operating system or your browser to better suit your needs.
